Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA said on Friday that sales and net profit increased in the second quarter and raised its profit guidance for the full year.
The German healthcare company posted net profit of 474 million euros ($ 563.5 million) for the quarter, up from 410 million euros in the same quarter a year earlier, on sales that reached 9.25 billion euros compared to 8.92 billion euros in 2020.
Profit before interest and taxes before special items fell to 1.02 billion euros from 1.12 billion euros the previous year, Fresenius said.
The company raised its profit guidance for the full year, now expecting net profit growth in a long single-digit percentage range at constant currencies. Fresenius previously expected the development of net income to be at least broadly stable at constant exchange rates. Its outlook for sales growth remains the same as the company predicts sales growth in a low to mid single-digit percentage range at constant currencies.
Fresenius Medical Care, the company’s dialysis division, reported lower net profit for the quarter, which stood at 219 million euros from 351 million euros the previous year. Revenue was € 4.32 billion, up from € 4.56 billion in 2020. The company said the pandemic continued to hamper business.
