Disney World closes the Galactic Starcruiser, the immersive Star Warsthemed hotel that costs around $5,000 for a two-night stay. In an update on Disney’s website, the company says the Starcruiser will receive its last guests from September 28 to 30.
“We are so proud of all the Cast Members and Imagineers who brought us Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to life and look forward to providing guests with an outstanding experience on the remaining trips in the coming months,” Disney’s update read. “Thank you to our guests and fans for making this experience so special.”
Disney’s Galatic Starcruiser hasn’t been around that long, as it only opened its doors to guests for the first time in March 2022. The lavish hotel is modeled after the Halcyon Star Wars, with highly detailed decor, interactive events, themed dinners and live entertainment over a two-night experience. But at around $4,807 for two adults (or $5,999 for three adults and a child), Disney doesn’t exactly make the stay very affordable.
However, there are signs that the experience may have been difficult. In March, Disney announced it would start scheduling two bookings per week in October, instead of the usual three to four weekly bookings. With the Halcyon closing in September, Disney won’t get the chance to make this change.
According to Disney, the company will contact anyone who has bookings on or after Sept. 30 “to discuss your options and adjust your plans.” The company is also pausing new bookings until May 26 while it cares for affected guests. Disney did not immediately respond The edgerequest for comment.
